Comparing an Old Zombie film to a New one

Our film genre is horror and the sub-genre is zombie. This is quite an old sub genre of horror as the creatures knows as ‘zombies’ have been fictional for a long time and the first film to feature zombies was Victor Halperin’s ‘White Zombie’ It was a simple plot about a man who turns a woman into a zombie. Although Victor Halperin was the first director to direct a real zombie film the storyline was based on a book by William Seabrook.  

However in modern day films 'zombies' are portrayed in so many different ways and they are much more common and technical as they are different speeds and have different ways of infecting you as in 'World War Z' they are unbelievably fast. This shows me that even though the sub genre is quite detailed there is a wide variety of different ideas you could have and you can make it your own.
