Research into setting

When looking into different types of mise en scene in films similar to ours we had to look into setting. Because a zombie horror film is usually set in a post apocalyptic world, therefore everything is likely to be broken or damaged. There are similar films that portray this, such as 28 days later. As the main character walks through the streets the streets are a mess as there are things that are damaged and broken and it looks a mess. This means that the setting is of a damaged and broken city. This setting is also the same in I am Legend as the streets of New York are deserted and a mess. Also in the walking dead the scene is a broken town with damaged cars again. Because this is a general convention of the setting being messy and destroyed, this means that we need to have this sort of damaged setting in the way we can. This means that people will relate the setting to our film to a zombie horror film making it easier to view.

Below are images of the broken sets on: 28 Days Later, I am Legend and The Walking Dead
