Typical Zombie Film Characters

The Expert-  The typical hard man who loves how the world has now turned out because he had nothing before. This character also enjoys and get a thrill from killing zombies. An example of this is Woody Harrelson's character in 'Zombieland'.

Average Joe- Another typical type of character is the person who is terrified all of the time, but gets on with things and doesn't let it hold him back. This person doesn't get so scared that they don't want to fight or they just run away, however they aren't so confident in their own abilities that they attempt to find trouble for themselves like the type of character above would do. An example of this type of character would Jesse Eisenberg's character which is also in 'Zombieland".

The Innocent- This is the character who has just been caught up in the middle of it all and doesn't belong or fit in with the surroundings. This character is scared and upset and sometimes dies in the end, however not always. It can be either a child or maybe a dog on some occasions. An example of this type of character is Sam the dog from 'I am Legend'.

The Eye Candy- This is the character that is there simply for the male viewers to view as eye candy. This character may not be the smartest person in the world and will usually die at some point during the duration of the film. This character also usually has little skill and cannot contribute to the survival effort. An example of this sort of character is Oh Yoon Joo from the film 'Lie to Me'.

The Tough Girl- This girl isn't the one flirting with you or being your friend. This is the girl who means business. She can fight, strategise, and organise. She may however also be the one who the main character ends up falling for. My example for this is Emma Stone's character in 'Zombieland'.
